Paeonia tenuifolia is treasured by Peony collectors. Early blooming with beautiful ferny foliage. Prefers to be drier than garden types. May go summer dormant. Extremely long-lived.
Plant other cultivars with staggered bloom times to extend the total peony bloom period. Remove spent flowers after bloom. Cut foliage to the ground and remove from the garden in fall after frost.
