Growing & Maintenance Tips for Tradescantia (per) andersonii 'Zwanenburg Blue'

Tradescantias grow and flower best in full sun and cool, moist locations. They also do well in partially sunny and bog locations. They spread everywhere, but other plants keep them in line, and it is easy to pull out little plantlets that you do not want. Pruning the plant back by half after a heavy flowering period prevents repopulation by seed and stimulates a re-bloom. In the fall or late summer you may need to deadhead the foliage. Divide in early spring to control spread.
