Growing & Maintenance Tips for Hemerocallis 'Strawberry Candy'

Deadheading spent flowers not only keeps the plant looking attractive but is important for rebloom. The flowers can be snapped off the stem. Many of the newer designer daylilies are more self-cleaning and may not require as much maintenance. Designer Daylilies have been selected because they have foliage that stays attractive even after they are finished blooming. In the event of foliage decline you can remove the dead leaves or even shear down to a few inches above the ground. The new foliage that will emerge will be fresh and showy Daylilies are long-lived perennials. If you begin to see a reduction in flower time from one year to the next, it is time to divide which is usually between 3-5 years
