Growing & Maintenance Tips for Syringa x josiflexa 'Royalty'

Lilacs bloom on old wood (branches that were produced the year before), so they can be pruned soon after they bloom to avoid cutting off new buds. This can be done by deadheading the stems with old blooms on them and/or by rejuvination pruning of overgrown shrubs
